The ones like romantic movies, sci-fiction, comedy, thriller etc. But no matter whichever genre we choose to watch, we tend to seek a common feeling amongst all. And that feeling is none other than being thrilled.

Any movie that keeps you glued to the storyline, that doesn't allow you to miss even a second’s scene, that makes you start biting your nails and makes you forget the reality, is what you call a thriller.

Without any doubt, you must go and watch this masterpiece! We can never argue on the intriguing factor that it imposes on you. The story is about how a simple Indian-Muslim girl, sacrifices everything, gets into grave danger and gets married to a Pakistani family, only to spy for the benefit of her country.

The direction, action of the characters, cinematography, storyline, and everything about the movie is awesome. Moreover, it is based on a true story. I am sure many of you will find it as brilliant as I have found.

Another paragon of the thriller genre. I remember, when I first started with this movie, I was left completely unaware that I had to catch up for a meeting. Yes, it is that kind of film, that makes your eyes stick to the screen until you know the story completely. It is a prequel of the movie “BABY”. The movie tells us the story of the men under the dark, who sacrifice their lives for our country, but no one is aware of them. And a girl from this team is called Shabana. Her valour shown and the suspense created by this movie is tremendous. And so is the impact.

#3. Raid

IMDB: 7.6/10

As the name suggests, it is self-explanatory, that the movie will revolve around the “Raid”, a surprise visit done by police or the Income-Tax Officers to arrest suspects or seize illicit goods.

Simple story-line, is that what you think?

Well no, as simple as it sounds, it is as thrilling in reality. Based on another true story, this movie will put lights on the braveness of some of our IT officers and the amount of corruption that instils in our society, in the most happening way.

This movie is an English-language action-thriller, powered packed with emotions, amusement, disgust and of course, “thriller”.

To what extent can a father go to save his daughter and to what limit has the international flesh market grown, is what the movie will help you learn.

Simply an exemplar of the thriller-action movies, with an outstanding acting done by the lead, Liam Neeson. This movie had done so well, that it was followed by two sequels, Taken 2 and Taken-3. Catch all of them, if you can stand the action.

A submarine named PNS Ghazi, bought by Pakistan, from the USA in 1963, was Pakistan’s first fast-attack submarine. The brave naval officers, who were a part of the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971, remained under water for 18 days, to safeguard our country. How they managed to manoeuvre the challenges and what all challenges they faced, is worth learning about. The movie not only showcases patriotism but also displays the episodes from the war in the most gripping way.

How does the thriller plus supernatural subject treat you? Well, to know, this movie is certainly a never miss. The movie is an old one but still manages to apprehend the audience's mind every single time they watch it. Released in 1999, it was much appreciated by the critics as well as by the audience. It tells a story of a troubled child who is able to see and talk to the dead and an equally troubled child psychologist who tries to help him. Watch this movie and be anxious to find the conclusion.

By the name of the movie itself, it sounds quite mysterious. Nevertheless, you will be left even more in mystery, when you start watching it. The story starts with three young boys playing hockey. But that day was not a very fortunate one for them. They end up getting bitterly tormented by some men and that incident remains fresh in their minds till they grow old. To understand how the three boys get involved in another tragedy again later in their life and come out of it together, don't miss watching it.

Very few us might have missed this one. With an intensive plot filled with suspense and mystery, along with a ting of supernatural element, this movie has been successful to keep the viewers completely jittery. Even if you have already watched this film before, I would suggest do watch it again. And you would be amazed to know, that the same movie can still give you goosebumps.

Here comes another blockbuster hit movie, which spanned over the country for several months, when it was initially released. Apart from the remarkable storyline, the movie portrays different themes of feminism and motherhood in male-dominated Indian society in the most effective way. While shooting for this movie, the crew often employed guerrilla-filmmaking techniques. It was totally shot on few of the Kolkata’s overcrowded streets and surprisingly due to this technique, the film-making process avoided attracting attention. Though the NH10 is a 403 km long stretch, connecting Delhi and Fazilka in Punjab near the Indo-Pak Border, this movie is not depicting the same. It's concerning a couple who go on a road trip and their encounter with a group of violent criminals and also shows the case of Honour-Killing. On watching this movie you will be thrilled beyond words and might start praying that this has not happened in real. Watch this movie to find out what all mess the couple faced, and how dangerously they fall into the trap of a crime which was not related to them.

How about watching India's first reincarnation thriller film? Mahal was the one, which was released in 1949. It starred Ashok Kumar and Madhubala and was directed by Kamal Amrohi. This movie also launched Lata Mangeshkar as a playback singer and Madhubala in lead role. Furthermore, the movie was also given the honours of being included in the British Film Institute's list, "10 great romantic horror films". What about the storyline? But that is not all, here even a prisoner who is also an unjustly implicated genius, helps them to find the criminal. The criminal has abducted series of innocent children and has killed them. He could be a famous person, but why would he do such a heinous crime? To find out, watch this wonderfully directed Indian psychological thriller film.

At some point in time, we all must have heard about the famous author, Dan Brown. Remember his notable works like the Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol? Angels and Demons is yet another marvellous work done by him. An American mystery thriller film, based on this novel is worth watching. All the mishaps occur almost simultaneously and things get tensed up literally every minute. How a renowned Father is murdered, one from three vials of antimatter goes missing, the sudden death of Pope Pius XVI in Rome, the kidnapping of the four of the "preferiti" by Illuminati and the death threats by him, keeps the viewers all engrossed. Watch this movie and you will know, how everything was solved by a symbologist Robert Langdon from Harvard University.

And of course, the list has to end with our own Bollywood movie. When Rustom came into the theatres, I guess it was houseful from the same day and remained so until approximately a month. A real-life incident of Naval Officer K. M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja, in 1959, is depicted in this movie. A total suspense from the start till the end. Akshay Kumar received National Film Award for Best Actor at the 64th National Film Awards for his performance in the film. So that makes it obvious that this movie is certainly a must -watch. After watching this movie, you will be in the hangover of the story and at the end, you will be still wondering, whether Rustom was a patriot, traitor or a murderer?
