Meditation, the Right Way!
There are about a million things right now that could possibly be eating away your inner peace and mentally stressing you out.
Almost all of us by now (in your 20s and above) have figured some way or the other to Meditate, relax and find the real inner peace, but for now, let’s focus on one way in particular to get there.
Personally, I could never make out what others mean when they say “Try and meditate”. What is Meditation anyway? Few Google searches later, I tried to implement what I had gathered off of net and..... NOTHING!
Think about it, a normal human being (like you and me) can never have ‘nothing’ going on in their minds. It’s constantly worried and making lists and thinking about the future etc. So, how do we really “Meditate” to get the desired inner peace?
Definition of peace according to me: The composure you feel when you’re not avoiding anything.
Most of us have at some point or the other in our lives avoided things like; important calls, meetings, visits, quitting jobs, putting yourself ‘out there’, and most importantly, saying NO to things that you’re not willing to do. I’ve avoided them, trust me.
It doesn’t matter how amazing your life can be in every other way … if you’ve got something BIG that you know you need to do, but aren’t doing, it will eat away at your internal peace and prevent you from ever completely feeling happy, serene, or at ease.
Keeping this in mind, I finally did the one BIG thing I’d been avoiding for a long time. And as I was driving this morning, it occurred to me … I feel so calm and peaceful because I’m no longer avoiding anything. My mind no longer has that “thing” I was avoiding to latch on to. I can just be myself again, without having to worry about what I’m not doing.
So this week, I’m going to challenge you to do the same. Face whatever it is you’re avoiding. It won’t be easy (if it were, why would you be avoiding it?). But you deserve to feel what’s on the other side of that thing you’re avoiding.
And that folks is how you Meditate, the Right Way!
