Bananas are one of the most consumed fruits in the world, are grown in over 107 countries, and have numerous health benefits! High in potassium, zinc, fibre, and multivitamins, bananas help prevent low blood pressure, high cholesterol, and even cancer. Every culture has a deep love for bananas and have found different ways of incorporating this to their daily lives. In Sweden, they’ve put bananas on pizzas! In Kenya, they slice bananas very thin and fry them up to make addictive crisps. In the Philippines, they mix it up in a meat stew to provide a sweet and savoury taste profile. They are the only fruit that you can actively look forward to going bad, because that means it’s time for a decadent banana bread! You can put them on your toast, or in your cereal, you can freeze them and dip them in chocolate for a real treat or enjoy them on their own as the prefect snack. It goes perfectly paired with peanut butter, Nutella, salted caramel, and even plain old yogurt! What’s not to love about this versatile and easily available fruit?
