Apologies for the delayed reply. Ankita, SAP Fico Consultant and Cost accountant is a very good combination. You should think of getting some certification courses to complement and strengthen your finance domain. Certification on GST, IFRS etc., will give you an edge and easy access to Finance domain. Good luck.

Hi Fathima\n\nApologies for the very delayed response. Articleship training in CA is what completes the course. How much ever we learn theoretically practical experience is real learning. Do find out if there is a way you can work around this and convince your family. Also this could be the first step towards pursuing a career

Can you suggest any short term courses I can do with a duration of 6-12 months which can be of help for better job prospects. Do let me know. Thank you.

Hi Srilatha. I get that. Thanks for the reply. However, I have zero knowledge about the SIP's. Can you please help with the best Bank for this. Also what about the RD's?
08 Feb 2017, 03:53pm
Hi, RD's are safe but do not give you returns like SIP's. while I can't zero in and refer a bank to you , you can identify the top performing funds on major bank sites and Investment consultant sites.

Hi Srilatha. Would like to ask, Is it the good time to invest in a property? If no, what would be the best option to invest in for a person like me who has just started her career and does not draw that much income.
08 Feb 2017, 03:26pm
Hi Raba, Demonetization has its impact on property prices and prices are down now. The other options for you if you don't want to commit to a big amount is the SIP's offered by banks. If you are looking for risk free investment and tax saving options you can opt for PPF or the NPS. Hope this helps.

Hi Srilatha. What ratio of savings to expenditure .would you recommend for a working woman from a double income family ? What are the best funds to invest in ?
08 Feb 2017, 03:14pm
Hi Monica, A simple question but requires complicated answer. Savings ratio depends on your age, current earnings i.e your take home salary, current investments - Have you already invested in a house, Kids education plan etc., You should take in to account number of years you have to retire and the corpus you will need at various stages in life to meet your commitments and leave a lump sum for your retirement.
