Hello Udita,\n\nThis is a greatly internet connected world we live in today. And that gives us a great advantage of working from anywhere and anytime.\n\nAs you are an academician, you may want to explore the world of E-learning, creating a YouTube Channel, creating and selling downloadable learning content etc.\nYou can create your own avenues or tie-up with organizations that work with remotely situated employees/consultants.\n\nFor this, you will have to figure out:\n- What would you like to do and contribute in the field of academics? Where do you find a problem and what kind of solution do you have?\n- Who is doing what in that area and whether you want to be a consultant/employee or create your own business?\n- What kind of platform would you like to take-up?\n- The kind of investment - time, effort and financial - you are ready to make. Most important here is time and effort.\n\nDo let me know if you have more questions. Best of luck!

Hi Shilpi, \n\nThanks for your question.\n\nWould like to know what kind of professional experience you had prior to the 8 years break, whether you pursued any professional work during this break and most importantly, why you chose soft-skills training as a career choice?\n\nYes, there's a lot of scope in the industry, esp. for specialists and experienced.\nThere are many people who are not from the People Development industry and still shown interest in it, beginning with soft-skills.\n\nSoft-skills are required in every industry - it broadly covers Emotional Quotient of people at work. Within soft-skills, there can be many areas such as etiquette, customer handling, communication etc \n\nHaving said that, you may want to explore Symbiosis, ISTD, AIMA to name a few. Go through their open programs and seek enrollment for a brush-up.\n\nI can say more once I understand more about why you wish to choose this industry and what have you already done. Thanks.

Dear Kanika - congratulations for the motherhood!\n\nMy work is with Organisations/Corporates, not with Universities so am not very well equipped to answer this question.\n\nHowever, what I can suggest is that you may explore these options:\n\n- get in touch with professors - through LinkedIn or other mediums - request them to let them have you as a shadow in the class. This will get you a more practical and contemporary exposure and further boost your confidence.\n\n- you can also volunteer and offer to do free sessions that will help you get hands-on experience. Do this for sometime and with whole heart with objective to learn and gain experience.\n\nI hope this helps you, do let me know if you have more questions.
