So what's our excuse today ?

What's our excuse to prioritize something else or someone else over our health today ?

I had one for each day, until I saw my friends grandmother. She must be 70+ and I haven't seen her miss her walk even a single day.

Here is an ode I wrote for her...

She walks for the pleasure of walking and not by peer pressure,

She walks not to maintain her figure at this age but to keep her vigour even at this age,

She walks in a saree carelessly draped around her, but carefully covering her modesty

more than a track suit will.

She walks with a pair of slippers faster than you and I can walk with branded sneakers.

She walks keeping her ears open to the cacophony of kids playing around and not

with her ears shut to the harmony of a chosen playlist

She walks mindful of every step she takes and not mindlessly tracking each step with an app.

for she walks for the pleasure of walking and not by peer pressure.

So what’s our excuse ? Let's stop looking for excuses not to take care of ourself.

Let's find our excuse to stay healthy, to priortize ourselves over others.
