It involves a certain amount of multi tasking, in fact quite a bit of it, organised thinking and working, proactive thinking and being ready to fall and learn from mistakes.
Intrapreneur, like the word suggests has to do a lot with the word 'entrepreneur'.
The difference is that an intrapreneur gets to work with freedom within a certain earmarked sphere of responsibility and with someone else's capital. To me it is like a honeymoon period - the best of all worlds. As an entrepreneur, one has to work with one's own capital for a larger part of life. Even if it is a funded company, an entrepreneur has to 'earn' the funding.
What is common between an intrapreneur and an entrepreneur is that:
1) Both have to work very very hard
2) Both need initiative, aptitude for handling crisis, a sharp eye on details
3) Both need a hawk's eye on the delivery and ROI and be on top of the results.
It's a good feeling to be a successful intrapreneur. Ask me.
I have always been an intrapreneur and an entrepreneur. And a very successful and happy one.
What about you?
