It is not easy being parents of a teenager. According to teenagers, there are lot of embarrassing moments which are caused by their parents. They think that their parents embarrass them all the time.
Once I called my daughter from green room where she was getting ready for her annual day performance to take a few pictures of her. One of her teacher helped me to call her as parents were not allowed inside. The moment she came out, I knew she was upset. Her eyes said it all and I was ready for an explosion once we reach home.
Whenever they have an annual concert or any school event where parents are invited, the motherly avatar in me comes out, where I can only see my kids and I do not care if others are watching. And I start cheering for them (loudly). Recently in my younger ones concert, I went into that cheerleader mom avatar again and my teenager who was sitting next to me sank lower in her seat to avoid being mistakenly associated with the shouting lady.
