Many of us use mentorship as a crutch, instead of a guide.
The first thing when we want to work is to get oursleves into top gear, go out, meet people, be relentless till we get what we want. The mentors are there to support.
But we have to start by helping ourselves.
Be clear that work does mean a compromise at times. Nothing is every ideal and late hours, pressure to meet deadlines are a reality of every job. We will need a support system at home.
A job for a woman is equally about productivity and effectiveness, and not a nice to have for any organisation. We owe it to our workplace to give it all we have.
Women have tremendous inner strength and an ability to balance, to wear multiple hats. What we sometimes lack is confidence.
The spirit of Can Do.
