Hi Meenakshi,\n\nCongratulations on successfully running your business for more than 2 years. This is a good indicator that you have been doing right things.\n\nContracts with big companies are hard to negotiate. Have you thought of contacting coworking spaces or shared office? Many individuals and small teams work out of these office who looks for healthy, home made and affordable lunch options. By playing on these factors, you can attract such people on regular basis. You may want to approach these spaces and offer a free trial for people to taste and subscribe.\n\nHope this helps!\n\nHappy Kowrking,\nHoney J Kathuria

Hi Honey! I want to open a cafe. What is the sequence of steps to do so and what are the legal/ licenses etc I need to take care of? Should I register as a company or can I directly register as a cafe? I have no capital to start. What are the requirements to get the capital from a bank?
15 Jul 2017, 09:02pm
Hi Pallavi,\n\nDo you have an experience of managing a cafe? It has become a very competitive field now so before you venture to start something of your own, my recommendation will be to gain experience in managing a successful business venture. \n\nOnce you have done that, you can proceed by setting up your company. There are many online legal startups that can help you with that. Getting loan from bank will require paperwork, business plan etc. However it has become easier in recent times for women entrepreneurs to get a loan.\n\nHope this helps!

hi, Iam Lalitha, who want to get into food business. I want to prepare few snack items and market/sell them using rickshaws in crowded places.(the typical vegetable vendors model). My aim is to get at least 10 rickshaws. what would be the price of these vehicles.. ? Once Iam ready with food and rickshaws, how do I get people to buy/hire those rickshaws ? Please advice
24 Apr 2017, 12:09am
Hi Lalitha,\n\nThere are a lot of challenges managing food cost and quality by selling\nthrough rickshaw and local vendors. Have you considered association with\napps like HolaChef and FreshMenu? These apps can sell you food through\ntheir app. They usually take ~30% of the cut for managing\ndistribution, food standards and marketing.\n\nIf you want to go with rickshaws then I would recommend talking to few\nlocal ones first to figure out how much will they charge you for renting\ntheir rickshaw to you. Marketing and advertising is going to be a challenge\nin this model as it has to be all local and through word of mouth.\n\nHope this helps!\n\nKind Regards,\nHoney Jain Kathuria\n\n\n

Hi Pinky, Can you do a one or two years course in hospitality like hotel management etc? That will not only help you get a foot in the door but will also help you understand the different functions in the industry that you can choose from. If you have very strong communication skills then you can start from the entry roles in smaller hotels but do know that the growth options via that route are limited. Hope this helps,. Cheers, HJK

Hi Honey, I want to pursue my career in HR Profile. Currently, I am Working as HR Executive in a Startup. Could you please guide me the career path and Challenges.
22 Mar 2017, 04:23pm
Hi Pinky! Thanks for reaching out. Today, there are two main HR profile options - 1) Corporate HR - here you deal with different HR functions like recruitment, performance management, Org changes etc at a corporate level 2) Consulting HR - Many big firms are clubbing HR activities with their consulting projects. Here you deal with user readiness, change management etc. Have you decided the area that you want to pursue? For corporate HR roles, you can look out for the jobs in small to large companies. Aim to get exposure to all HR functions. Identify your preferred area and then become a specialist. HR consulting role is a tougher nut to crack. You will need credentials that are harder create. Start with smaller companies that can offer you consulting roles and then move up to big ones (where all the fun and money is :-)) Hope this will help you. Feel free to ping me if you want to discuss it more. Cheers, HJK

Hi, in your opinion what is the most optimized way of tapping maximum number of outbound customers in a day and what could be good strategies to make it work for a remote team?
22 Mar 2017, 04:13pm
Hi Supriya, I am responding to your question on the assumption that by outbound customers you are referring to the customers/leads that are contacted by the company. If this understanding is not correct then let me know. It is always easier to convert inbound customers than outbound (just like easier to tap repeat customers than new customers) - driven by customer intent. When a customer contacts you, they have shown an interest. However, when you reach out to a customer, they might not even be aware of their need. Though challenging, the most useful practices that I have implemented in my past life are: 1) Know your customers - research about him/her/them. If you know your customer, you can understand them better. Data of your customers can be a deciding factor to get an engagement from them 2) Create a rapport: establish your credentials early on in the interaction to create mutual rapport. 3) Be crisp and to be the point: don't spend time on unnecessary things. Aim to get your main message delivered in first 60 seconds. To make this work for a remote team, one will need strong training and quality management. There are various tools available now that help you deliver virtual training session along with tests, tools that capture screenshots or parse calls to catch negative words, tools that allow you to provide near real-time feedback to your team so that they can act, and tools to track performance over a period of time. Hope this answers you question. Feel free to ping me if you want to discuss this more. Cheers, HJK

Hi Honey\n\nI am a Content Writer and Proofreader. Had a happy life until 5 months back. My husband and the love of my life was snatched away suddenly by Cardiac Arrest, leaving me confused and with a lifelong gut-wrenching pain.\n\nHowever, I am not prepared to give up since I want to leave a lot for my daughter, who now only has me. \n\nI have a lot of guts, gumption, intelligence, and courage. I am not being presumptuous or arrogant, but I know that I am cut out for a lot more. I want to show all those people who have ridiculed me, seen me as an object, and told me that I cannot - WHO I AM AND WHAT AM MADE OF. \nI now seek to run my own large guesthouse or Hotel of maybe 40-50 rooms (to start with) and need:\n\n1. Help with preparing a business plan \n2. Understanding more about running such a business\n3. Getting a reliable long-term investor to fund the buying and a few months of operational expenses\n\nPlease advise.
