#ThankYou To The Health Freaks Of SHEROES Community!
a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.
the condition of sharing or having certain attitudes and interests in common.
The dictionary meaning 2 of the word community explains one of the many purposes of a SHEROES community. It’s more about togetherness, a sense of belongingness and a place where you can be yourself. It is what makes SHEROES special and our community members make it a warm place for everyone to come and share their life with us.
In our new series, we’re taking a look back on some of the best community posts that struck with you. It’s our way of being grateful for the 3 million (and growing) community.
This is a healthy treat by one of our members in the Health Community and take a look at the healthy suggestions everyone came up with!
Nansi turned to her SHEROES girl gang, “My husband has put on some extra kilos. So, from the last few months, I have been making a variety of salads in dinner. He is allergic to some veggies and almost all pulses. All SHEROES here, please share your favourite salad ingredient and help me get a new idea to help my husband lose some weight!”
Nansi’s personal favourite is lettuce. On the other hand, a community member Dr Anju Sharma says,
“My favourite is beetroot as it adds a different colour and also adds a nutritional value.”
While Navneet Kaur suggests a mouth-watering salad of chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumber and lemon; Deepali Singh prefers a salad of broccoli, tofu and capsicum with a drizzle of olive oil. Yum!
Merril Diniz, an active member of the health community, suggested that Nansi try rocket leaves which give off a smoky flavour and are very rich in nutrients. She also suggested that beetroots, spring onions, mushrooms and cauliflower.
Wondering how to add mushrooms to a salad?
Merril suggests simply sauteing the mushrooms along with freshly grounded pepper powder, garlic and salt and toss them in the salad! Ta-da!
Sangeeta Guha shares her recipe of a simple vinaigrette that she uses as a dressing for her salad, “A vinaigrette consisting of honey, black pepper, salt, olive oil and vinegar with a pinch of mustard powder will perk up the drabbiest of salads and can even be used on steamed vegetables, if you don’t like raw ones!”
Other community members were quick to point out that it’s not just salads that can help one lose weight. Shobha suggests workouts and balanced meals, instead of just sticking to salads. Ruchika Sharma adds that having meals on time is of utmost importance. And Nidhi Rastogi recommends having a warm glass of water after meals, for better digestion.
What we love about all our communities is how all the women are quick to respond and bring that warmth with them. #ThankYou ladies, for being a part of our sisterhood, that is now yours too.
