VanityCube.in is  a venture that provides an array of beauty treatments right to your door step. They pride themselves in offering state of the art services to women, men and even kids. The founders, Renu and Pragya created this concept from scratch and focused on filling the gap working individuals face when trying to get basic beauty or hygiene treatments done given their hectic work schedules.

Let’s hear what one of the founders, Renu Bisht has to say,

How did the idea of starting VanityCube come about?

We are two founders - Pragya and me (Renu). Our husbands were batch mates in IIT Bombay. Pragya was a management consultant with Protiviti and I was with KPMG in Gurgaon. Weekdays just flew by due to hectic office schedules. Weekends were about grocery shopping, socializing and catching up on our sleep. There were times when getting an eyebrow done at a salon 100 metre from your house was a taxing affair. We were not aware of any salon which provides professional salon services at home in Gurgaon.

During one such get together Pragya and I happened to talk about this. That’s when we realized that we should do something about it and we started researching on the concept of home salons in Gurgaon. We found none. We found that local beauticians come to your doorstep and provide services. But they don’t always use quality products or equipments.

This is where we thought we can step in. We want to bring a revolution in on demand beauty service space where just by click of a button you get your beauty services home delivered.

The demand for beauty services in the comfort of one’s desired location is strong. The concept of the salon is antiquated. Who has time to run around for a beauty appointment? Our clients are busy people and know the value of their time.

VanityCube is a one-stop destination for all beauty and wellness needs. VanityCube brings beauty salon and spa services, along with our highly-vetted professionals directly to the customer; anytime, anywhere. Looking and feeling good has never been easier or more affordable.

Currently we provide services in Gurgaon and Delhi to all Women, Gentlemen and kids. We have a fleet of beauty therapists and hair dressers who travel to customer location and create a salon experience at their doorstep. We also bring our onsite services to corporate offices and Hotels.

How is VanityCube different?

We interview multiple beauty therapists and makeup artists trying to understand how this model works. When we started our operation our 1^st priority was staff and customer safety. All our staff is police verified and carry identity cards. You can choose from an array of services and book an appointment online too. We ensure the therapist comes over within 60 to 90 minutes.

What are the top three qualities it Takes to manage a business well?

The first is you need to have passion for your business which demands commitment and dedication towards you business, your customer and your staff. If you're not enthusiastic about your product or service, that's not going to sustain you through the highs and lows that, will inevitably occur. Build a strong team and trust upon them.

How are women in the professional world lacking in today's times?

I don’t think women in the professional world are lacking. But yes they have to balance professional and personal life and sometimes we fail to prioritize things and loose opportunities. Men overestimate their abilities and performance, and women underestimate both.

As women entrepreneurs, what are 3 things you would like to change in the present Indian corporate set-up?

I thing the 1^st change I would like to see is, the world should treat us as Entrepreneurs and not Women entrepreneurs. Corporate India thinks women do not desire to be at high positions. Everybody irrespective of gender likes to be in power whether it is politics or the corporate world. In corporate India the differences in women’s style, approach, communication, decision making and leadership values are not at all understood or valued.  They have to understand the fact that men and women are different in many ways so their working and leadership style will differ but that does not mean they are less qualified or not fit for the position. Qualification and experience should be given more priority over gender.

Do you have any words of wisdom for fellow SHEROES?

Live your Dream and believe in yourself. I think at the end of the day, if you are good at what you do, that's all that matters. When someone rejects your business idea, it can feel like a personal attack because of all the time and energy you invested in it. Realize from the beginning that there is more to you than just your business. This way being rejected won't feel so harsh, and you can bounce back faster.

What are the short term business plans for Vanity Cube?

Our short term plan is to create market awareness about our concept and expand in and around NCR. At the same time we are also trying to build a convenient app for booking and payment process for our customers.
