Detox Your Wardrobe Today!

Every morning, on opening your closet, do you stare at your clothes and then go through a range of emotions? If you do, you could be a victim of 'wardrobe rage' and it’s time for you to detox your wardrobe. By doing this, you will have a clearer picture of a cupboard in your mind and without much thinking, be able to choose what to wear for the day!

Here is how you can detox your closet:

  • Stick to basics: Having too many clothes will only confuse you every morning. With fewer clothes, you will know what exactly you have and will be able to instantly decide what to wear. Remember the 'replacement theory'? It’s of much importance because if you purchase two new pants, you must give away or discard the same number of clothes from your existing wardrobe.

  • Section up your clothes: Make separate shelves for your daily, casual and formal wear. By doing this, you won’t be wasting time in the mornings, because you would look at just the 'work clothes' shelf and not the party wear section.

  • Buy 'timeless fashion': If you own more classic designs or what one can call 'timeless fashion', it will be easier to maintain your wardrobe. For instance, invest in linen shirts for work, well-fitting jeans for casual outings, and long or little black dresses for formal evening parties.

  • Keep/collect only a selected few: If you haven’t worn a skirt, a pair of shoes, or an accessory in more than a year, you are never going to wear it! It is be better to gift it to someone who will use it. Unclutter your cupboard!
