Kittur Rani Chennamma got married at the age of 15 only, but lost her husband, Raja Mallasarja, and her son and had to take up the responsibility of looking after the kingdom, which she fulfilled wonderfully. She rebelled against the British East India Company's attempt to take over her country and died for her nation.Kanaklata Barua- She was a young martyr whose life burned short and bright. She hailed from Assam and joined the Mrityu Bahini, a death squad when the Quit India Movement was raging across the nation. She was shot dead in her attempt to hoist the Indian flag atop the local police station.
