In terms of work related policies Tata Steel has very women friendly policies to help them.For working mothers with children less than 5 yrs of age there is additional 15 day leave policy.Then there are creches at different office centers.Now recently company has started second career opportunities for women returning back after long break.
Cons: a. commodity business is not very suitable for single mother, especially marketing and sales function. b. A lot depends on your immediate superior. c. Big company, hence lacks agility at times. Pros: a. Senior management is super supportive and very sensitive towards needs/constraints of lady employees. b. Has best employee policies as compared to other companies. c. Opens up possibility to move to other companies in tata group, if ever needed. d. Locational constraints are acceptable.
