I would rate HSBC as the best place to work for women. It has many women friendly policies. You can work from home, you can have flexi working timings. The people at HSBC are very nice, cooperative. Management always promotes diversity. I have worked there for a long period and completely found it to be the safest place to work for a woman.
However, everything depends on which particular department one is posted in.
The environment may differ from place to place. Also depends a lot on how well one is able to gel with the people and culture of HSBC.
