While there are no negative remarks in general, there is no special concern for women except 4 months of maternity leave. There is no flexibility in timings. However that is a respected job and keeps up our self esteem. .
Axis bank is very much women friendly organisation. More than 40-50% of staff are women. I don't think they have flexiwork or iwork@home options like in ICICI Bank but they do have very comfortable work environment
The plus points with them were :
Good perks for performers
The managers were considerate for me when I was a young mother.
They considered my request for transfer due to personal reasons.
The minus's with them were :
Long working hours. (which is the case with most of the private sector banks in India)
These days Slow promotions (compared to the time when the bank was growing)
I would like to say that it is indeed a good place to work. There are a lot of women successfully working in all positions. I did find good recognition for my work in the organisation. I was single during my stint with Axis Bank. I found the work atmosphere very friendly and supportive. There was good camaraderie among the staff. Also, there wasn't much interference into my personal life.
Banking has long working hours, tight deadlines and more work towards the month-end, quarter-end etc. If you do not have support at home for someone to take care of the kids, it will be difficult to manage. Again a lot depends upon which department you are joining and what are the expectations from you. Some managers are supporting and some are not. On the positive side, banking is a very good career which gives to stability and respect.
Axis Bank is good in terms of salary and exposure. But, work life balance is missing there, employees used to stay at office for 12 - 13 hours officially specially branch banking department. Work pressure for sales is very upsetting and easily makes ones I'll. If you priotise your health and family in your life then don't join in Axisbank.bu if you only wànt money and position then go for it. otherwise it povides all medical facilities
Although every one talks about work life balance ed but the kind of job pressure and stress we are having it's becoming difficult to handle.
When I joined it was not like this but now market is so competitive that to retain the business it demands a lot.
My suggestion would be to be clear about the exact job profile and department as well from HR.
They are very considerate for women employees.
pros is that they give you a nice exposure and help you develop multitasking skills. They aheva very friendly and safe environment.
Cons sometimes over time is required but that is very common in any corporate companies these days
