I am a career break returnee based in Mumbai. I have 14+ years of IT exp. in leadership and management roles. During my 2.5 years break due to relocation abroad with my family, I have acquired new learning in data science and have also worked on real life open projects.
I would like to have your advice on how do I make career transition to full time IT senior roles, where exactly I left my professional career ? Or is it impossible to start after a break at a senior level ? Personally I feel I have added value to my skill set by taking hands on experience in the latest technologies , but need your advice understanding the ground reality from recruiters perspective.
Thanks in advance.

I am not a recruiter so I can't give you that specific perspective you are looking for. However, I can say this, if you believe in yourself, then apply for the roles that you think you deserve, don't be defensive about your break, instead show clearly what you have learnt and achieved during that time. A lot of organisations that are looking to reduce the gender gap are keen on hiring women, You will find a lot of useful resources, on organisations that are women friendly here on the SHEROES website, use this, and apply to the relevant organisation.
All the best
