I am an MBA in HR with about 7 yrs of experience in varied areas of HR including recruitment, training management, education management and selling training solutions for a training services start up. I am on a extended break since I was abroad for a couple of years and had a baby - my son will turn 2 next month.
I have always been interested in a career in OD and Change Management and related consulting but lack any specific academic qualification or hands on experience in the area - though I understand consulting in the HR business due to my experience with my last company.
How do I go about trying to steer my career in this direction?..I have been looking up PHD programmes with some Tier I Bschools in this area , and also trying to do a bit of reading and discussing with folks who are working in this area - but am still sitting on the fence on this.and lack direction.
Clearly am confused and would love some advice - Also is it realistic for me to consider this career shift at this point where I have a dependent toddler?
