Hi Sheetal, I am a senior IT professional with more than 25 years of experience in IT service delivery. However in the last few years of my overseas stint, I got a lot of exposure in Corporate sustainability activities and developed a keen interest in the same. After coming back to India, I also completed an academic thesis paper on Green Computing in the context of India. At the moment I intend to change my career stream to Sustainability, E-waste management and Green Computing. However I have not been able to find any opportunity. In fact I have not been able to find a channel through which I can look for an opportunity in this field. Would you be able to guide me in this direction? Thanks in advance, Sangita

Hi Sangita, Thanks for reaching out. I think you have made a good start already with your transition. You have already published papers, Great start :) CSR jobs are few and get filled by referrals and connections quiet frequently. I recommend the following hacks if you haven't already tried them: 1) help plan a sustainability program for your company 2) Use twitter. Almost all CSR leaders have twitter accounts. Follow the hashtags like #CSR, #susty #ESG, #SRI, #CSRchat #sustainability; 3) Use social media to share your thoughts and knowledge. Your online presence can do you a lot of good; 4) Attend conferences to build your network in the sector. Hope these tips can help you make your next career move. all the best :)
