Hi Neeraja, I used to work as a PL/Sql developer for 3 years. Then I took a career break to look after my daughter. Now I am thinking of getting back to work. I have observed that the career options are limited for my job profile. I am thinking of getting a certification in technical writing from TWB. I would like to know is it going to be a huge shift from being a developer? Also , I would like to know about the career opportunities in this field.

Well, writing and development are 2 different kinds of roles. However, one needs to have a flair for the kind of job that she chooses. So, you need to examine if you have the required skills to do a writing job and then take a plunge. Before you get yourself certified, you can try a couple of assignments(even if they are non paying ones) to evaluate if you are keen to take it on.
