Hello Neeraja, I have 3 years of experience in UNIX and .Net with career gaps in between. I am planning to do a course Big Data Development to excuse the career gap. But the job profile require Java experience which I do not have. Shall i go ahead with taking up the said course ? what can I do to stay in demand in the market? Please help. Thanking You, Ramya

Hello Ramya If you are targetting a certain type of a role and you see that the job descriptions mandate this skill, then you can go ahead and do the course. Otherwise, it may not really help to land a job by doing a course and they will ask for the experience in those areas which you may not be able to provide. So, I would recommend that you look at roles which can utilise your skills and if those roles ask for an add on skill, please go ahead and do that course.
