Completed my bête he in 2013 after studies 1 year I did job as app developer after got married but now am get bored and no self confidence so I wanted to start my life by this job can u guide me

Are you bored developing apps? Or are you bored being a housewife? If you are bored developing apps Ashwini, then trust you me this is not the time to get bored with this side of the digital business. I would recommend you get extremely serious about what you are doing. Really get deep into it - the technologies, the platforms, the user experience - and identify what you are good at - and start mastering that skill. Be proud of your work and let that pride show in the quality of your work.\n\nAs far as self-confidence is concerned Ashwini, more you think you lack it, further it tries to go away from you. Confidence is something you have to love and nurture - step one, accept who you are. Accept your unique being - everyday practice saying this aloud - "I am unique. I am myself. And I am good. I love myself. And I am confident. Hello, world!"\n\nLooking forward to hearing more from you.

Hii,\nI am working in a banking Industry, but got bored by doing the same work,i wanna start my own business,Wanna be an Entrepreneur, kindly suggest some good or unique business ideas?
11 Apr 2017, 06:16pm
If you got bored in an area you chose as your career and which must have been paying you good steady salary then before starting your own business think hard of what might sustain your interest in the long run. Because starting your own business is going to be more time taking, strenuous and risky than doing a regular salaried work. But if you are able to be consistent and keep your focus then the rewards are going to be worthwhile.\nSo tell me first, five things that interest you and which you feel you could work with for the next ten years. Then maybe we can start talking.

Dear Nandita,pl guide me in the field of writing,i write freelance and iam interested to write for good magzines, news papers, sites.I am keen to write on general topics,i have published a few articles and stories on some sites.I am keen to make a living with my pen,so where does one get paid to write. Preeti
27 Jan 2017, 10:16pm
Dear Preeti, thanks for writing. A. Please first create your online portoflio, you can create your own blog, where you keep on writing regularly on general topics (?) or more interestingly specific topics (could be for a specific age group, gender, area of work, life style). You can also start adding photos you have shot on your mobile maybe that are content specific. Make your writings illustrative and interesting. B. Share the link of your portfolio with newspaper editorial departments (the digital depatments), ad agencies, digital content platforms, creative content studios (like YBR :) ) C. Register at websites that provide freelance work (e.g. elance.com etc.). D. Now follow these ups regularly, be consistent. Slowly the work would start trickling in. But be consistent, make people aware of your work, develop a specific style, you can also start writing in multiple Indian langauges etc. etc. Some initial thoughts. Some more maybe later. Let me know if this is of any help. Nandita

26 Jan 2017, 12:53am
Dear Reina, what is your area of interest / specialisation in IT? Also, are you looking for home based job opportunities or are you willing to travel to your place of work and commit certain number of hours. You have to be very clear about these questions first, given the fact that you are married now and a home maker. But you seem very keen to pursue your career as well, which is a very good sign! Just, from this early age, pl learn to draw boundaries between home and work, where each area of life gets the deserved attention it requires and you are able to do justice to both. Now, I would need you to come back with answers to these two questions, and I am sure we along with the SHEROES team would be able to find a way. Looking forward to hear from you more.

I want to write a story on this as how men are and how I struggled for 3 years and now I am 60 percent better and it wasn't easy

Dear Vandana, thanks for writing. More courage to you and may you get 99.99% better soon. Let's start 3 years back, and why don't you start writing a series of blogs that tells the story of your journey of a woman who started from zero, raised 2 kids and is now slowly, but steadily, improving her life and values her life. Many other women may be going through similar situations in life, and who knows by sharing your story you may be able to bring a positive change in someone else's life? @SHEROES may also be able to suggest some good blogging platforms.

As you are an entrepreneur I want to understand your experience of life guiding people in this ?
25 Jan 2017, 03:47pm
Yes Gaurav. I am an entrepreneur. I formed my studio Yellow Brickroad with my husband, who is my co-founder. My studio Yellow Brickroad (YBR) has three areas of work. First of all, we provide Brand and Business consumer engagement solutions to clients using traditional and digital mediums. Second, we create animated and comic-strip stories for children that talk about human-animal bonding and animal cruelty. And third, we create easy business digital tools for women who want to be employable or want to become employers themselves. Our core strength is creating rich, original content in English, Hindi and Bangla. As an entrepreneur, my journey has taken me to various highs and lows. I have unlearned things I thought I knew and learned new things. And have understood the basics hands on - that you have to believe in yourself, that you have to be consistent and persistent, and that you should always keep your vision high, and that you should never forget your origins. Accept who you are. And the world would be ready to accept you.

How can I start with story telling, I am good at public speaking, had been conducting counselling sessions for all age groups wherein once I tried story telling as well with primary section kids to help develop their spoken skills and being more expressive. How can I take this commercially? Is there any course that will help? Being an unconventional work field should I start working without expecting earning much?
25 Jan 2017, 03:38pm
Hi Shakun, good to hear from you. You can start by introducing storytelling tools in your area of work. They say that comic strips and animation are the best ways to discuss / approach a taboo / uneasy subject. Wall posters could really work for you if your workshops are trying to help kids be more expressive. Give them a topic, divide the kids into bunches of say 4 kids per bunch, and ask them to create a small story on a chart paper using the comic strip format, and we all know the comics don't we? See how much fun it would become for the kids and you as well. Also, start using slides in your public speaking assignments. Draw them / design them yourself, because you understand your audience and their communication needs best. Let me know if you want to discuss this more, I would be available for whatever support I can give thru my mentorboard @SHEROES.

How do you commercialise story telling? Can this be turned into a profession ? How do we earn out of it ?
25 Jan 2017, 03:28pm
Bill Gates said - "Content is king". And so its is. With multiple devices, mobiles reaching newer audiences every day, brands and any organisation / platform that is trying to reach out to a large chunk of audience is looking for rich, original, innovative content. So decide on your offering - how you want to tell your story - is it throughblogs, is it using animation, or video? And how do want to position yourself - do you want to cater to a specific TG or reach out to all types of audiences. And start approaching brands / agencies / content platforms who would be keen to avail your services.

How do you tell a story to an audience that have diverse age group ? Given that they work in the same office, how do you connect each segment of your audience to the story-line ?
25 Jan 2017, 03:27pm
If you have to tell a story to an audience with diverse age group, but from the same community (like you have suggested an office) - find out what is the thread that is common amongst all these people - what is the key take away of the story that you have to convey to each one of your audience. Once you have cracked that, you would made a substantial breakthru. Because when communicating to a diverse audience, there may be customisations or special treatments required for specific age groups. Maybe some age groups would also need more attention that other, and you would have to reach a balance between them. But the key message would remain the same. Hope this answers what you have been looking for. Let me know if you want to discuss this further on my mentor board @SHEROES.

Hi Nandita, If one is looking to open their own company, what would your advice be? What are the few things that one should take into consideration? Could you share some insights from your experience.
25 Jan 2017, 03:18pm
Hi Anchal, Some initial advice, more I would be happy to discuss later on my mentor board @SHEROES: 1. The structure of your compnay: is it a proprietorship firm, a partnership firm, or a private limited company. Get all required licenses, paperwork in place. Get your bank accounts, statuotory complinces in place. Now what are these? Let's discuss them in our next session. 2. What is your product / service? Is this your core competence? Or would you be dependent on outsourcing? 3. The five P's - Product, Price, Promotion, Place, People. 4. Your short term and long term goals. 5. Your resources - how much you would be able to sustain with your own resources an by when you wuld need external help. And the sacred question - "what is your business model?" Let's discuss this more sometime soon.

Hi Nandita, How do I Migrate from Graphic/Motion designer to UI/UX Design?
25 Jan 2017, 03:15pm
Hi Manuj, being a creative professional yourself I am sure you know that there is a science, approach and technicality behind every stream of the creative industry. To do well, you should know the 'asks' for the stream you are working on. Motion graphics and UX Design are two completely different fields. Motion graphics is part of an existing story. And when we start talking about UI/UX, we start talking about self-paced content, user expereince, navigation, portability, compatibilty and much much more. Also, with the digital boom, understanding what works, in what form, on which device is a very critical thing. I would suggest, that as a motion graphics designer you already have your visual asthetics / drawing skills. But do explore possibility of studying UI/UX designing - do some online courses if you can - before you migrate, so that you do SUPER work in your new role as well. All the best!

Hello Nandita! Thankyou for this opportunity. How do you spin a story around a research with hard core, often boring data?
25 Jan 2017, 03:12pm
As your question suggests, treating hard core and 'boring' data is a very challenging job indeed. I would suggest a four step approach to begin with: 1. What is the objective of the research and why do you want to communicate this to your target audience? What do you want your audience to retain from this? 2. Identify who your target audience is: what is their background, what is the optimal attention span they can give, what works best for them. Be empathetic to their needs and try and understand what is it that works best for them, not what YOU think is best for them. 3. Define your delivery vehicle - what are the platforms using which you can optimally reach your audience. Is it print, or video/television, or digital? Is it for a group or is it for an individual? 4. Once you have answered the above you should be able to start defining the language you should use, the tonality, the colors schemes, the visual story you should tell and more. Always keep in mind - when visuals accompany text, the retention is always better. Learn how to use info-graphics effectively and use these to tel a better story. Try and create a connection between the research findings and the real life challanges of the viewer and tell a story that touches these spaces. You would be able to have a far better reach, if you place yourself in your audiences shoes and tellthem the story in their own language.
