Hello Monica, \nI am Varunika, a Company Secretary by education. I am out of work from past 7 years. I am a stay at home mom of a & year and 2 years old sons right now. Now i want to restart my career. Being out of touch of my profession and industry for so long, i am very under confident and don't know from where can i start with. I understand that strict 9-6 job would not fit into my life now as I've to take care of my current responsibilities of home n kids also. Please suggest me what all options do i have and how can i go about it. \nThanks

Hi Varunika. This is a tough situation for you and believe me ,almost all women face the same loss of confidence and self belief after a break. The longer the break ,the more the self doubt .I can understand how powerless you feel but take a moment to revisit your skills. It is not easy to become a CS but you did it ! and now you can do it all over again .You may need to do that somewhat literally too. Dig a little deep and look at the kind of job roles and profiles available to CS these days ,certifications that help and people who are currently engaged in the profession. Reach out to former colleagues and get a sense of the options you can consider. There are two ways to go about it - you can either look for a part time CS roles with organizations or look at flexible work options related to your skills .Would you be open to curriculum writing or becoming a subject matter expert ? You can also consider virtual assistant roles to start with. I would suggest you begin preparing yourself for a comeback - work on your confidence levels and setting up system to take care of your domestic responsibilities.Considering the mandatory appointment of a CS under the prescribed rules, there is no dearth of opportunities. Also, you may choose to start your own practice and cater to multiple clients. You would need to network to build this. Its not easy but with effort and persistence you will make it.Let me know if you need any further help .Best,Monica
