Hi Monica. I am a 30 year old, single female based in Mumbai. I have done my masters in pharmacy with 5.5 years of pharma industry experience. 6 months back i had a rural posting in an ngo based on healthcare as part of CSR and i realized i have a flair for teaching given my skill sets in story telling, music and drama. i now wish to shift my base to bangalore and change my career to teaching, essentially primary school children. so i was searching for degrees to support it. i came across MA in education from azim premji university which i found suiting my personality. do you think its a good idea to pursue it now by quitting my job and taking an education loan? or are there any other options i could look out for? the only other option i could come up with was doing a b ed or d ed course via distance education without quitting my job

Hi Lekshmy. Pleasure to connect with you and apologies for the delayed response.Doing a BEd course via distance education is convenient as you keep the job and get the degree.A regular course will be a more intensive approach.Do consider what you are looking for through an education degree.though.Since the transition for you is more in terms of following your heart ,you may want to look at something which may allow you to connect at a deeper level and give you the hands on approach to education.Keep your the financials in mind - whether you could save up to put yourself through the chosen course or a financial loan is necessary for you.I would recommend you go through the curriculum of distance education courses and the regular courses to see the matches and misses .This will give you a good idea of what to opt for.The moot point is not the degree but what you gain through it. I must mention that I really appreciate your heart and commitment to go for what you believe in.Let me know if can assist you further.Best,Monica
