What we say to ourselves affects what happens to us. If you say 'You cannot do it'! to yourself ('I cannot do it!'), you won't be able to do it. Just today, I heard a few members say things such as 'I am not getting a job'; 'God knows when I will get a job'; 'They (recruiters) are rejecting even if my profile suits the role' and so on and so forth. Instead of comforting the agitated members by soothing words and positive talk, the others pitched in their rant and added fuel to the fire.
There are books, spiritual coaches, podcasts - so much is being written, spoken and PRACTISED in the space of 'Thinking and Acting Positive'; 'Changing your Inner Narrative', that it amazes me but at the same time makes me believe in and practise it.
I have changed my inner narrative especially since the last three years and it has impacted my life, my outlook hugely. The way we think impacts the way we act, the way we act, changes the external event /situation happening to us.
Example: If you think, " The interviewer is going to reject me since I have taken a career break", he will. How? All because of you. You will think negative, which will drag you and make you feel less confident, so you will fumble in your interview, which will lead to you being rejected.
Sorry about the harsh statement, but that's the reality. The sooner we wake up to reality, the sooner we change ourselves and our inner narrative, the faster you will see the results you want in your life.
Happy thinking! Happy working!
