One of my friend shared a video with me by actor Amitabh Bacchhan, “Mata pita kahin jaate nahin, woh yahin rehte hain” (Parents don’t go anywhere, they stay with you).
I realised how true it is. Parents remain our bench mark, companion and an ally even after death. Now when I have kids, there are so many things which I say to them which my mom or dad used to say them to me. My dad was very particular about wearing slippers at home and he used to say, “Chappal pehano” whenever he used to see us without one. Same thing I do with my daughters.”
My mom used to always correct us whenever we would say “Haan” instead of “Haanji”. Now I realised, even I keep on correcting my girls.
If you look around, there are so many other things in which we can see our parents. Family and friends who knew my mom, tell me so many times that I look like her. My dad was a very good singer, and now my elder daughter has a very good voice. One can feel them in so many small things and in so many moments of life.
