Hi Dr.Kashish, I am Phani Harika and i am working in an MNC since 4 years. But these 4 years went waste for me without gaining any technical knowledge but engaged in only project management tasks and other customer oriented tasks. I feel myself low, i want to change my job atleast my nature of work, I am so worried as my friends who started their career along with me are progressing and i just stuck at the same place without any growth. this feel making me so sad and could not do any work properly, sometimes i feel to start my career from 0 again and sometimes i feel like leaving all these things and run away, As i am married, i am not able to balance my personal things too. i feel like running away from all the responsibilities. can you please guide me what to be done to come out of this situation. How can i switch my career and get progressed.\n

Hi Dr. Kashish, Currently I'm in a career break from past 4-5 years and had worked as a Technical Writer in reputed IT firms.Willing to restart my career but "work from home",as have a two year old child. Confused, as what to do? As technical writer not getting any home based jobs and on other hand, thinking to start a business of my own. But by net surfing feels lack of confidence. Kindly suggest me what to do?

Hello Priyadarshini; Being at hone for the sake of your growing child is one of the best steps you have taken to nurture your child's sanctity. Since technical writing seems challenging for now ; and you are considering starting a business ; why not start ? You could even start selling online or start some offline business . As long as you keep the creative side in you alive; you shall be happy within. Enough of thinking...just do it...take the leap of faith. psst.... update me soon about your successfully conquered milestone.. awaiting revert ! ;)

Since u have a child now ; and you woild need to balance both the worlds opt for a profession where it would'nt call for drainage of energy. There are many lucrative work from home job oppurtunities . It relies completely on what job interests you have . You couod begin with trying to be an affiliate marketer or trying to do online selling of goods by trading in fast selling commodities like womens clothing ; watches ; accessories ; etc. It is a huge market there and does not require an experience. Alternatively ; you could begin with blogging. Create content and become a content writer. If you are good with social media ; you could also freelance from home by handling people's social media . Hi Richa; Losing a loved one is not easy. Probably you haven't accepted the loss of your dear one completely yet. Hence; the fear still lingers. Sadness on the other hand needs attention because you need to list down what are the feelings that are really bothering you down . Through this sabbatical there is something I discovered about myself that I am good at motivating and encouraging people, because of so many things I have and am going through in my married life, I am able to listen and sympathize with people and encourage them to stay positive. Beginning with your good qualification in English ; you could consider having a tie up with various classes or institutions for teaching English or could do it as an individual set up. With word of mouth ; your name would spread and you could see yourself as being financially independent. I even took a break from school thinking it would help to have less stress but I don't think that worked well for me; do you have any advice that could be of help to me?

Hi Anthea; Thanks for your qs. Directionless movements are a cause of agony and emotional pain. Do what you like to do the most. That is your calling. For eg : I love to listen and guide people ; hence this particular profession. Listen to what your heart tells you to do. Feel the happiness when you do a particular activity. What activities do you really like to do ? You've gotta have immense passion for that activity . It has to motivate you to get outta bed enthusiastically every morning. Only you shall be able to help and guide yourself in that particular regard. Alternatively ; you could also go in for Career Counselling to get an idea about your strengths and weaknesses; which could help you sort out the career confusion and overcome the temporary depression.
