Meet The SHEROES - Vaishali Fulsundar

We got in talks with Vaishali Fulsundr, CEO of The Virtual Company, and she gave us insight on her journey and mission.

Q: Tell us about yourself Vaishali?

I am CEO of The Virtual Company. My passion is to create work from home opportunities for women in software. I am totally convinced that a woman can be a good mother, a successful professional, a good wife, a loving daughter, a caring daughter in law. We can manage it all. I wish each and every woman in our country learns to be on her own and has financial independence. Its truly liberating feeling when we don’t depend on others for money.  I learned to stand up for what I believe in, and everyone around me supported me. I have a long way to go and I am sure this journey will be exciting and fun.

Q. What is background Vaishali? How would describe your childhood?

I was born in a typical service class family. I am also the eldest amongst 3 kids. I lived in Thane during my childhood. As a child, I loved studies. It continued through my teenage days. I was amongst the toppers in my school and colleges. My dream was to become a Computer Engineer and I was successful in achieving it. I  graduated from VJTI Mumbai in computer engineering stream.

Q: What inspired you to start your own path with The Virtual Company?

I worked for various corporates like Raymond, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Lehman Brothers and BNPParibas. I always have been extremely ambitious and would constantly challenge myself. I quickly climbed to senior management role in my career. I was always viewed as a top performer and high potential candidate.

In my last corporate job, I realized that I need flexibility in my career. I am blessed with two wonderful daughters. I wanted to spend more time with them. My heart was not in for a 9-5 job. I wanted to create my own path. I had no idea about my future, but still wanted to take the plunge. Deep in my heart, I knew that things would fall in place. I believed in myself and my abilities. I always got support from my husband and family to follow my passion. There were ups and downs, but I always found a way out.

I got freelancing assignments for project management. Then I realized, there would be so many women like me who would need help. That’s when “The Virtual Company” was born. I call it my third child. I decided to help software woman professionals who were highly skilled but had quit due to family or personal reasons. I decided to create a company which will provide work from home opportunities for these women professionals. I decided to dedicate my life for this cause.

Q: Tell us a bit more about The Virtual Company?

The Virtual Company, is basically into software consulting. We have Java developers, Testers, Business Analysts, Share - Point Developers, who are ready to take up new projects. The Virtual Company has clients across the globe. We have worked on 50 projects. We have delivered Business Analysis, Project Management, Atlassian Consulting work.

We help clients to deliver their software related challenges / problems. We have highly skilled and talented woman professionals who work with our clients and provide high quality solutions.  

At The Virtual Company, recruitment process is pretty rigorous. We make sure we hire the best talent. We ask candidates to work on trial assignments. Only when we feel they are ready to work with clients ,they are put on client projects. Our core values are customer value, commitment, responsibility, excellence and innovation.

Till now I have helped couple of woman professionals. I am on my way to create opportunities for many more. I hired these professionals through SHEROES as well. I want to grow my company so that I can reach out to maximum number of women professionals. My dream is to create a platform for 10 lakhs woman professionals in software where they can get work from home jobs.
