Q Tell us about yourself
A I come from a small place where there were no schools during our time. My father thus put me in a hostel early on. Being on my own since I was 9, I have always found ways to get things done. If I don’t like something or I don’t find something I want, I create it.
Always having the entrepreneurial zeal, I have tried creating or been a part of founding teams. Entrepreneur in residence, working in start-ups, mentoring start-ups - I have experienced it all. I love the chaos and the uncertainty of the start-up.
A travel addict, shoe lover, Garfield inspired and living in Harry Potter world, I can be found either in virtual world or enjoying chocolate, cakes and ice creams.
Q What was the inspiration behind starting travel chronicles?
A I was a digital media professional handling social communication for luxury clients before I moved to Mozambqiue. Not knowing the language and having nothing to do, I started travelling around exploring the virgin lands. There were wonderful experiences which I wanted to share with everyone. So I thought of starting a travel blog. While travelling I came across many other travellers who had wonderful stories to share. And those stories were inspiring. I decided to share these stories with the world. And that's when I dropped the idea of the travel blog and Travel Chronicles came into existence.
Q Share with us your favorite travel tale
A We have shared so many wonderful travel tales from all over. But my favorite has to be the road trip - Driving along the Mexico Baja. It had everything from exploring to adventure, to making new friends to learning something new. It had drama, emotions everything
Q Where do you see TC in 2 years from now?
A Two years from now we see TC shaping up as not only a platform to share Travel Stories but a place where people also help each other make travel stories.
Q With a full-time job in a start-up, how do you run a start-up of your own?
A I love my role at the start-up. But TC is my baby. I make good use of the time difference. So first half of the day is busy with y full time role at the start-up and the second half, I give to my baby.
Q A message to all SHEROES out there.
A Adventures are the best way to learn, so don’t fear the adventure. Step out of your comfort zone and let the adventure begin.
